Email Approval Scenario:

  • Once a task is completed, a notification is sent to the requestor for approval
  • The requestor wants to indicate approved or not approved via the email notification
  • If approved, the task can be marked as closed
  • If not approved, the requestor adds notes explaining why

Email Approval Objective

(with one APPROVED click):

  • Request Quickbase sign-in
  • Update record with approver name, date approved, add a note, and update phase to "closed"
  • Redirect to a Thank You page

(with one NOT APPROVED click):

  • Request Quickbase sign-in
  • Update record to clear approver name (if any), clear date approved (if any), add a note, and update phase to "blocked"
  • Redirect to a form with a focus on the notes field in edit mode

This tutorial is directly from the Quick Base Junkie training Secrets of API Buttons for Quickbase.

It is one of many examples where I walk you through, step-by-step, the scenario, setup, formula, and live demonstration of a Quickbase API Button in ACTION (not to mention all the training and resources to build your own API buttons from scratch)!!
